Speaker: Hans Ruijgers

Doing PKM, BASB and GTD is not an easy task. One needs discipline to start, to keep going, and get 1+1=3 results from it. All three aspects  imply executive competences, to name only one. For those who do not have well developed executive skills, a simple yet strong solution could be to do it together with somebody else. A colleague, or a trusted friend.

In 2020, the first year of the corona pandemic, Hans Ruijgers started to schedule Teams-meetings on a weekly basis with his former roommate at the Utrecht University to help each other with implementing GTD-principles.

Because they have known each other for almost 25 years, work-only topics quickly became work and private themes.

In order to capture the topics and insights of the meetings Hans created an Excel document with a dashboard and multiple worksheets (feeding into the dashboard). Now both could track GTD-elements, but also mood of the day ('5 Fingers'), goals, etc. In doing so all sorts of individual experiences and tacit knowledge was shared, discussed and captured.

Over time the dashboard began to show trends and these we again discussed and later on incorporated in the second year's dashboard. Now, in 2024, the 4th generation dashboard is being filled weekly.
